Compac Industries is happy to announce receipt of the largest ever purchase of CNG dispensers in Asia, from Indian customer Indraprastha Gas Limited.

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), long-time customer of Compac, is a Government joint venture for the implementation and supply of CNG networks in the New Delhi region. IGL reviewed Compacs competitive submission to them, and recently approved the purchase of over 200 car and bus dispenser units - considered an extremely large order within the industry , which will be manufactured and shipped in batches over the next few months.

After years of work and investment by Compac in establishing their approvals and product offering in India, Compacs first dispenser for India was installed in 2004 through our Indian agent, Reliable Engineering.  At the time, India was increasing their focus on implementing CNG as a clean and economic alternative fuel – vital for the future of New Delhi and the care of its environment.  In subsequent years, Compac has continued to focus on the New Delhi region in order to establish a premium brand and specifications, using their unique CNG technologies to meet stringent market requirements.

Jon Redwood, International Business Development Manager, who has been involved in the Indian CNG market for some time and attended the NGV India show in March, commented, “This order represents a great opportunity for Compac and for New Zealand to prove our quality of design and manufacture. IGL not only demanded the best possible pricing, but also a high quality unit that meets their very specific requirements, with a company that would deliver to specification and on time".
