Here at Compac we would like to acknowledge the valuable works Reliable Engineering Co. New Delhi, India has been doing for the past few years in the promotion and support of Compac Industries Ltd, New Zealand, for CNG Dispensers and associated equipment.
Compac have been active in the NGV industry for over 25 years, and are widely recognised as being world class providers of Premium CNG Dispensers and CNG technology. After years of work and investment establishing our approvals and product offering in India, Compac was established in India in 2000 through Laycock Engineers Pvt. Ltd. The first Compac dispenser installed through Reliable in India was in 2005. At the time, India was increasing their focus on implementing CNG as a clean and economic alternative fuel – vital for the future of New Delhi and the care of its environment, and both parties recognised the significant future opportunities that were developing in alternate fuels there.
On 1st June, 2008, Reliable Engineering Co. was made the sole Indian Agent for Compac Dispensers. Reliable have worked consistently to obtain many orders for the company throughout India, including frequent orders from IGL, MGL, Green gas and Maruti Sazuki. In the past year, Reliable have worked closely with Compac to successfully facilitate receipt of the largest ever single purchase of CNG dispensers in all of Asia, from an Indian customer. This order was for 216 car and bus dispenser units - considered an extremely large order within the industry, and has recently been followed up with a second, identical order from IGL in Feb 2010 (see news article here). Reliable Engineering Co. is now Compac’s sole Indian Distributor of CNG Dispensers and associate products providing direct promotion and sales in a very complex market, liason with Compac NZ, spare parts holding and distribution, national installation, commissioning and after-sale support through warranty and beyond.
Another exciting milestone for Compac recently has been our first-time participation at an Indian exhibition, NGV India, which was held in New Delhi in March last year. Varun Sethi from Reliable Engineering Co. attended the stand over the 3 days of the show, alongside Compac representatives (see news article here). Following the success of this show, Compac also have plans to attend this year’s NGV India show in November, which is to be held in Mumbai.
Compac will continue maintain our close relationship with Laycock/Reliable as we further expand into the Indian CNG market, and we would like to offer a big thank you in particular to Sanjay Sethi, Varun Sethi and all the team at Laycock/Reliable, for their in depth knowledge of the Indian market, their long-standing commitment to the Compac brand and their technology and for their tremendous achievements.
